I had just left Jersey Boys and was tired of the poppy sound I was playing every night (although the 4 seasons is great music). I just wanted something more earthy. I'd bought a new dobro and was fiddling with it when I came up with the opening motif. To me it sounded like 'wake up abigail.....wake up abigail', so that's what I titled it. It's really a lullaby with some slide guitar in the middle to add tension. It's my wife's favorite track on the cd, although she did ask me, "so who's Abigail"? I just laughed and told her the story.
